Sydney cocaine syndicate dismantled; four men charged - SCC Drug and Firearms Squad

Four men have been charged following a Drug and Firearms Squad investigation into the large commercial supply of cocaine across Sydney.

In September 2018, detectives from the State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Bayou to investigate a coordinated network allegedly delivering prohibited drugs across Sydney.

Police will allege in court the network supplied cocaine with an estimated potential street value of $10,000 daily, seven days a week for more than six months.

Following extensive investigations, Strike Force Bayou detectives, with the assistance of the Public Order and Riot Squad and local police, executed four search warrants at homes at Auburn, Merrylands, and Rhodes about 9am today (Thursday 4 April 2019).

During the warrants, police located more than 0.5kg of a white powder, believed to be cocaine, $5,000 cash, mobile phones, electronic devices, a Toyota Landcruiser, and drug paraphernalia. The items were seized to under forensic examination.

Three men – aged 29, 35 and 38 – were arrested during the search warrants and taken to local police stations.

A fourth man, aged 37, was arrested at Auburn Police Station.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and knowingly participate in criminal group assist crime.

The Auburn man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.

The 29-year-old Rhodes man was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and knowingly participate in criminal group assist crime.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Friday 5 April 2019).

The 35-year-old Merrylands man was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), and knowingly participate in criminal group assist crime.

The 38-year-old Merrylands man was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, and knowingly participate in criminal group assist crime.

They were both refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

Investigations into the importation, manufacture, and supply of cocaine are ongoing.
