Metropolitan Roads Minister Natalie Ward said fixing thousands of potholes caused by flooding is being prioritised as hundreds of workers repair roads across Greater Sydney.

"The NSW Government quickly allocated extra resources to ensure these vital works are undertaken as quickly as possible," Mrs Ward said.

"Potholes impact the daily lives of commuters which is why we have had 300 staff across Greater Sydney undertaking maintenance work with a focus on repairing potholes on motorways and those that create a safety risk to keep our roads open, safe and reliable."

More than 2400 potholes have been repaired to date.
