Fawkner police have impounded a man's car after he was detected travelling at alleged speed of up to 150km/h in a 70km/h zone in Campbellfield last night.
The police Airwing observed the silver Volkswagen Golf travelling south on Sydney Road just after 8.30pm.
They directed officers on the ground after the vehicle stopped near the intersection of Sydney Road and Gentles Avenue and the driver was intercepted without incident.
The 23-year-old Roxborough Park man had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $878.50.
He is expected to be charged with manner dangerous, speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit.
