The Minns Labor Government is today unveiling draft plans for the new 20 hectare park in Moore Park South, giving Sydney its first preview of a new world class public space, community and sporting facilities and a reconfigured golf offering.
Sydneysiders are invited to have their say on the new park and reconfigured golf course to help guide the delivery of the Sydney's newest central park.
The draft plan is supported by a $50 million investment from the Minns Labor Government and brings us a step closer to delivering on the promise of a new 20-hectare park at Moore Park South.
The park will include a 9-hole public golf course alongside new features put forward in the draft plan such as a community sporting field, walking, running and cycling paths and trails, lighting on main paths, amenities, picnic areas and park furniture, tree planting and landscaping.
We want the community to share their thoughts to help guide delivery.
The plan also proposes an expanded 90-bay driving range and a mini putt putt golf course.
Work will begin after the current operating licence for Moore Park Golf Course expires in June 2026, with staged opening to commence before the end of 2026 and work expected to be complete in late 2028.
By delivering Moore Park South the Minns Labor Government is matching increased density with more public open space. With the population within 5km of the new parkland projected to rise to almost 790,000 by 2041, making it one of the most densely populated parts of Australia.
The community and stakeholders are invited to have a say on the draft landscape plan for Moore Park South from 28 October to 24 November 2025.

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said:
"Delivering Moore Park South is about creating a backyard for the thousands of current and future residents living in one of the densest communities in Australia.
"Improving access to green open spaces has a direct link to improved physical and mental health outcomes for our communities so we must continue to pair homes with investments in our public spaces.
"Moore Park will continue to offer golf while also providing new amenities including a community sporting field, walking, running and cycling paths and trails and relaxation and picnic areas.
"The new park will be a place to meet friends, spend time in nature, play and enjoy community sports in the heart of inner Sydney."
