Take councils MLAK survey

Wednesday, 22 March 2020

Griffith City Council is reviewing the Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) system and is urging those living with a disability or their carers to help by providing feedback.

The MLAK system is used to access the disabled toilets in the Griffith Local Government Area (LGA) at any time of the day or night. Council provides a free MLAK key to any eligible person making an application.

You can help Council make an informed decision about the usage of public disabled access toilets by completing a short survey www.griffith.nsw.gov.au/mlaksurvey2020

Disability Inclusion and Access Committee Chair, Councillor Mike Neville said, the aim of this review is to ensure disabled persons have exclusive access to clean, safe public toilets in the LGA at any time.

"I encourage members of our community to fill out this survey. The results will help Council ensure we have a system in place that positively impacts those using these facilities," Councillor Neville said.

The wheelchair accessible toilets in our LGA, locked with the MLAK system include:

  • Memorial Gardens, Banna Avenue
  • CWA Park, Banna Avenue
  • Poplar Park, Banna Avenue
