Launceston residents and visitors will have an express route from the Airport to the CBD and surrounds under a re-elected Liberal Government.
Announcing the launch of a 12-month trial of SkyBus in the North, Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the improved transport route to and from the airport will make it easier for Tasmanian families to travel, and for visitors to access the City.
"We have worked closely with the Launceston Airport to improve and upgrade facilities as part of our plan for Tasmania, and this strong partnership has delivered for our economy and community," Premier Rockliff said.
"The Airport is consistently soaring to new heights, with 159,032 passengers making their way through the terminal in January.
"A re-elected Liberal Government will build on this success, introducing SkyBus services to Launceston for the first time - just as we did in Hobart in 2018.
"This will be a seven-day-a-week service that will commence as soon as possible, servicing our thriving visitor economy.
"We will work with SkyBus, the Launceston Airport and stakeholders to determine the best location points and timetables to ensure Tasmanians can use this service to their advantage.
"A majority Liberal Government is the only way to keep Tasmania moving forward with certainty and stability.
"This election comes down to one choice: a strong Liberal team with a real plan or another merry-go round.
"Let's get on with it.
"Let's finish the job for Tasmania."
Funding for the SkyBus service will be delivered through "Transport Services" allocation included in the 2025-26 Budget.
