Julia Gillard Library in Tarneit, at 150 Sunset Views Boulevard, will be temporarily closing from 5 May until early June for essential maintenance works.
Wyndham City's Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: "Whilst the Julia Gillard Library is closing for vital works, the Tarneit Community Centre is not affected, and we will be providing services as usual."
"I know that the Tarneit Library will be missed by the community while it is closed. The timing of the closure is scheduled for the least impacted month of May."
Library patrons are encouraged to visit the four other Wyndham City libraries during this time, including Hoppers Crossing Library and Truganina Library Lounge.
"Our libraries offer so many benefits to our community, including providing access to information and education, acting as a gathering space for events and activities that support physical and mental health wellbeing, and supporting social cohesion and cultural understanding," Cr Shaw said.
The Julia Gillard Library in Tarneit will welcome the community back in early June.
