Tasmanian families will be better off by around $250 per year, under a re-elected Tasmanian Liberal Government.
TasInsure will offer affordable insurance to Tasmanian families, ensuring more properties are properly insured.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said that many families were being forced to under-insure or not insure at all, with cost of living pressures continuing to mount.
"With lower insurance premiums, more families can appropriately insure their properties, no matter where they live," Premier Rockliff said.
"This is all about bringing the cost of living down for Tasmanian families.
"We've heard many stories about families struggling to make ends meet and having to make tough choices about what they can afford, with insurance premiums increasing by more than 35 per cent over the past two years.
"These increases have meant that insurance has simply become unaffordable for many families in our state.
"That's why we are stepping in to support hard-working Tasmanians with a Tasmanian solution.
"TasInsure will put people before profits.
"It will mean households will see their insurance reduced by around $250 per year.
"TasInsure will be life-changing for Tasmanian families, putting home and contents insurance back on the table.
"It will be cheaper, fairer, ours."
