Taskforce Falcon Charges Gunman in John Versace Murder

Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged the alleged gunman in the shooting murder of John Versace earlier this year.

About 10.30pm (Monday 19 May 2025), emergency services were called to a home on Dalton Street in Condell Park following reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command found a 23-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

He has since been identified as John Versace.

State Crime Command's Homicide Squad commenced investigations under Strike Force Harkstede which then continued under Taskforce Falcon when it was stood up to combat violent crime in Sydney.

Last week, two men were charged with their involvement in the murder and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, about 9am today (Tuesday 11 November 2025) detectives attended a location in Silverwater where they charged a 21-year-old man with murder.

The man was refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court today, where police will allege the man was the gunman in the shooting murder of John Versace.
