Taskforce Falcon Charges Two After Firearms, Lab Find

Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged two men after seizing firearms when a clandestine laboratory was uncovered in Sydney's west yesterday.

Between March 2025 and September 2025, Taskforce Falcon detectives conducted an investigation as part of proactive taskings, into several men and their alleged involvement in the manufacture of prohibited drugs.

Following extensive inquiries, about 7.30pm (Wednesday 3 September 2025), detectives – assisted by specialist officers attached to the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad and Drug and Firearms Squad, as well as the Public Order and Riot Squad and Dog Unit – executed a search warrant at a house in Glenbrook.

During the search, police located four firearms, including two semi-automatic firearms, about 450 rounds of ammunition, an inert 'flash bang' grenade, law enforcement uniforms and ballistic vests.

Police also uncovered a clandestine laboratory and items consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs, including precursor chemicals, glassware and methylamphetamine.

Specialist police from the Drug and Firearms Squad's Chemical Operations Team and Fire and Rescue NSW attended to dismantle the lab.

Two men – aged 25 and 31 – were arrested at the property and taken to Springwood Police Station.

Each man has been charged with 13 offences:

  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (four counts)
  • Possess more than three unregistered firearms, one is prohibited/pistol
  • Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
  • Not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm
  • Not keep firearm safely-pistol
  • Not police officer/special constable wear etc police uniform
  • Manufacture prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity
  • Supply prohibited drug more than or equal to commercial quantity
  • Supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, and
  • Found on/entering/leaving drug premises.

They were refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court today (Thursday 4 September 2025).

Police will allege in court both men were involved in the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs.
