Taskforce Falcon Foils Plot, Charges Two Men

Taskforce Falcon detectives have thwarted an alleged violent crime after intercepting a 'kill car' and charging two men in Sydney's west.

About 2.40am yesterday (Wednesday 22 April 2026) police were called to Karangi Road, Whalan, following reports of a home invasion.

On arrival, officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command were told four men had forced their way into the home allegedly armed with a hammer and a firearm.

The men left a short time later in a black Mercedes SUV before the arrival of police.

Four people were home at the time, but none were injured.

Local police established a crime scene and commenced investigations which are continuing.

About 3.30pm yesterday, detectives attached to Taskforce Falcon's Strike Force Duncan observed two men in the garage of a home on Lissanthe Street, Marsden Park, unloading items from a black Mercedes SUV into Hyundai hatchback.

The vehicle left the property, before it was stopped on Richmond Road, Marsden Park, short time later by strike force detectives and Raptor Squad officers.

During a search of the vehicle, detectives seized a pump action shotgun, ammunition, jerry cans of fuel, three sledgehammers, four baseball bats, duct tape, cable ties, and pillowcases.

Two men – both aged 22 – were arrested and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

A short time later, Raptor Squad officers executed a search warrant at Lissanthe Street, Marsden Park, where police allegedly seized a black Mercedes SUV.

A 22-year-old Blackett man was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm, use, supply, acquire or possess defaced firearm and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

A 22-year-old Colyton man was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm, use, supply, acquire or possess defaced firearm and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

They were both refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today (Thursday 23 April 2026).
