Tasmania Police Probe Burglaries from Wynyard to Shearwater

Police are investigating a series of burglaries committed between Wynyard and Shearwater since yesterday.

It is alleged that two men (21-year-old and 17-year-old) used a white 1993 Toyota Corolla stolen from Launceston, and committed a series of burglaries and petrol-stealings at businesses on Friend Street, Devonport; Wright Street, East Devonport; Shearwater Boulevard, Shearwater; and Stewart Street, Devonport.

In two of the burglaries, the vehicle was used to breach the security doors of businesses, and cigarettes, smoking devices and cash were stolen.

The stolen vehicle was located burnt out on Don Road around 5:30am this morning.

Police are actively searching for the two people involved.
