The Tasmanian Government supports the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's efforts to secure Federal funding for the Launceston Sewer Transformation.
Acting Premier Bridget Archer said that this project is incredibly important for Northern Tasmania.
"We strongly support the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry advocacy for this project," Minister Archer said.
"This funding would be a boon for not only the northern economy - but it would also future proof vital civic infrastructure.
"The modelling done by Infrastructure Australia is a powerful message to the Federal Government.
"This will act as a significant economic multiplier, provide good well paid jobs, allow us to build more homes and continue to support the north of the state.
"We are continuing to deliver outcomes through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future - but we can't let these opportunities slide.
"We will fight tooth and nail for this, and I welcome the efforts from the TCCI to see this done."
