Tasmanian Performers flock to Hobart's Taste of Summer!

Elise Archer, Minister for the Arts

A 40-strong contingent of Tasmania's best and brightest performers are showcasing their talents at this year's Taste of Summer festival.

Minister for the Arts, Elise Archer said the seven day festival has drawn a record number of entertainers from right across the State.

"Major events like this provide a fantastic platform for our 90-strong contingent of local performers to showcase their talents", Minister Archer said.

"Tasmanian artists like Jay Jarome, Hugo Bladel and Tony Mak will feature at this year's Taste of Summer festival, representing a Tasmanian arts sector that continues to go from strength to strength", Minister Archer continued.

"In fact, Australian music icon Daryl Braithwaite is the only non-Tasmanian performer at this year's Taste of Summer event. An exception I'm sure we can all accept for our special New Year's Eve celebrations!"

The event is proudly supported by the Rockliff Liberal Government, who have partnered with festival organisers to secure the Taste of Summer for the next five years.
