Tassie's top tourism towns to vie for national crown

Peter Gutwein,Premier and Minister for Tourism

A big congratulations to Stanley and New Norfolk, both of which will represent Tasmania in the inaugural search for Australia's Top Tourism Towns.

Our beautiful state is home to so many incredible tourism towns, full of history, culture and passionate and creative tourism operators.

Stanley and New Norfolk are both extremely worthy winners of Tassie's Top Tourism Towns for 2021 and will do Tasmania proud at the national awards.

It's fantastic so many Tasmanians got behind this initiative, with 10,000 voting in this year's competition, showing how passionate we are about the role our Tassie towns play in our visitor economy.

I'd like to thank the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania for the work it's done to make this year's awards such a success, engaging so many Tasmanians.

Tasmania will be a must-visit global destination when it's safe to travel again, and its tourism industry has a world class reputation and the Tasmanian Liberal Government will continue supporting this vital industry, by maximising its potential to secure Tasmania's future.
