Rockhampton's Taste of the World Cultural Festival is returning for 2026, with the community invited to experience the showcase from more than 15 different cultures at the free event on Saturday 22 August.
Held at Riverside Park, the free family-friendly event forms part of Multicultural Queensland Month and will bring together communities from across the region to celebrate the rich diversity that makes Central Queensland such a welcoming and vibrant place to live.
From traditional cultural performances and authentic international cuisine to interactive workshops and community activities, Taste of the World offers visitors the opportunity to experience cultures from around the globe in one exciting location.
Festival highlights include:
- 15+ community food stalls featuring cuisine from around the world
- Spectacular cultural performances and traditional displays
- Coconut husking competition
- Cooking competition
- Luminous lantern-making workshops
- Lantern parade at dusk
- Arts and crafts activities for all ages
- Family-friendly entertainment throughout the day
Rockhampton Regional Council Communities, Culture and Heritage Spokesperson Councillor Drew Wickerson said the festival is a celebration of the people and cultures that contribute to the social fabric of the region.
"Taste of the World Cultural Festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the many cultures, traditions and stories that enrich our community," Cr Wickerson said.
"Rockhampton is home to people from dozens of cultural backgrounds, and this festival provides a platform to share and celebrate that diversity through food, music, dance and cultural experiences."

CQMA Manager Theresa Stanke said the festival continues to grow as one of the region's signature multicultural events.
"Taste of the World Cultural Festival is a celebration of the people, cultures, languages and traditions that make Queensland one of the most diverse and welcoming states in Australia," Ms Stanke said.
"This community-led festival shines a spotlight on the creativity, talent and contributions of our culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Visitors can expect an incredible afternoon and evening of cultural performances, delicious food, interactive activities and the much-loved lantern parade at dusk."

Taste of the World Cultural Festival is proudly delivered by CQMA and Rockhampton Regional Council, with the support of Central Queensland University, Multicultural Australia and the Queensland Government, plus sponsorship from Stanwell.
