Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting the community to save the date for the return of the Tatura Market, taking place on Saturday 2 May from 9am to 1pm at Stuart Mock Place.
With Mother's Day just around the corner, the market is the perfect place to find a thoughtful gift and enjoy a relaxed morning out. From handmade goods to locally created products, visitors can discover meaningful presents while supporting both stallholders and local businesses.
The market will feature a range of stalls including fashion, homewares, jewellery and artisan products, along with kids' activities and live entertainment.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said events like the Tatura Market play an important role in supporting the local economy.
"Events like this play an important role in supporting local businesses across Greater Shepparton. When people shop local, they are backing local makers, small businesses and families who contribute to our region's economy," he said.
"In the lead up to Mother's Day, it is a great reminder that every local purchase makes a difference. It keeps money in our community, supports jobs and helps our towns continue to grow and thrive."
Council's Place Manager, Bonnie McIntosh, said the market adds something different to the Mother's Day shopping experience.
"The Tatura Market gives people the chance to find something unexpected. Whether it is handmade, locally designed or simply something a bit different, the market offers options you would not usually find in one place," she said.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore Hogan Street, with local businesses open and offering a variety of food, drink and retail options throughout the day.
Cr Rod Schubert, Midland Ward, said supporting the Tatura Market means supporting the local community.
"As a Tatura local, I know how important events like this are for our town. The market brings people into the heart of Tatura and supports our local businesses, makers and traders," he said.
"It is a great opportunity to shop local for Mother's Day and back the people who make Tatura such a strong and welcoming community."
