A Digital Connectivity Roadshow is coming to the Western Downs region offering businesses and individuals one-on-one digital solutions support across the region from 27-29 October 2025.

Western Downs Regional Council is bringing industry experts from NBN Co, Telstra, and the Regional Tech Hub offering tailored support to ensure regional businesses and residents can harness reliable connectivity to unlock new opportunities.

Business owners and residents will receive expert guidance on optimising internet performance, securing robust EFTPOS connections, and selecting SIM plans for the best coverage across key centres including Tara, Meandarra, Miles, Wandoan, Chinchilla, Jandowae, and Dalby.

Western Downs Regional Mayor Andrew Smith said Council was committed to driving digital advancement, recognising that reliable connectivity is the backbone of modern business and a way for our residents to stay connected.

"Our residents and businesses rely on strong connectivity to stay safe, operate successfully, and remain connected with the world," Mayor Smith said.

"In today's rapidly evolving marketplace, digital solutions are vital for the growth, resilience, and competitiveness of local businesses.

"The upcoming Digital Connectivity Roadshow in the Western Downs region is a clear reflection of this need, offering personalised support from experts to ensure that enterprises, entrepreneurs and residents can harness reliable connectivity.

"Digital infrastructure allows our businesses to operate efficiently, stay secure, and engage with markets both locally and globally.

"It's more than just convenience - it's essential to the future growth and prosperity of our region."

Mayor Smith said the Digital Connectivity Roadshow would be visiting seven towns in the region during October and encouraged local business to make the most of the opportunity.

"We want to make this opportunity easy to access for all businesses in our community, so there's no need to register - simply come along," he said.

"Through the Digital Connectivity Roadshow, Council is creating opportunities for residents to engage directly with telecommunication providers who can troubleshoot problems, provide technical advice, and offer clear pathways to resolve service issues."
