Teen Charged in Dubbo Break-In

A teenager has faced court charged following an alleged break, enter and steal in the state's Orana region.

About 3.30am on Sunday 5 April 2026, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were called to a home on Palmer Street, Dubbo, following reports of a break and enter, and vehicle theft.

Police were told unknown individuals had allegedly forced entry into the home before stealing an Audi sedan from the address.

About 4am on Tuesday 7 April 2026, police commenced an investigation after reports a passenger of a vehicle allegedly dispensed fuel into the car from a service station on Brisbane Street, Dubbo, before leaving and failing to pay.

A short time later, police attempted to stop the vehicle on Sheraton Road; however, when it failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued towards Cobra Street, before turning onto Macquarie Street and onto Bultje Street, before it was terminated on Wheelers Lane due to safety concerns.

Following extensive inquiries, police attended a home on Braun Avenue in Dubbo about 4pm on Wednesday 8 April 2026, where they arrested a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly found hiding in the laundry.

She was taken to Dubbo Police Station where she was charged with be carried in conveyance without consent of owner, dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, and breach of bail.

She was refused bail and faced children's court yesterday (Thursday 9 April 2026).
