Teen Charged Over Suburban Burglaries in Victoria

A 17-year-old boy has been charged as part of Operation Fortress, which is tackling burglary and vehicle crime across the eastern suburbs.

Investigators spotted a Ford Futura sedan speeding along Burwood Highway about 1.40am this morning.

Police followed the vehicle into Pippin Court before attempting to intercept the vehicle.

The Ford crashed into a fence on Pippin Court trying the evade officers.

It's alleged the driver rammed a police vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot towards Burwood Highway.

Police cordoned then area and with assistance from police airwing and canine units, the youth was located hiding in the front yard of a home in Holland Road.

No one was injured during the incident.

A Richmond boy has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life and other related offences.

He has been remanded to appear at a children's court at a later date.
