Teen charged over unauthorised firearm possession in Blacktown

A teen will appear in court later this month after he was charged with possessing an air pistol at Blacktown yesterday, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 2pm yesterday, police from Blacktown Local Area Command were called to a park on Richmond Road, following reports that someone was carrying what was believed to be a firearm.

Following inquiries, officers spoke with a 17-year-old boy, who was allegedly in possession of an air pistol.

Officers seized the air pistol and arrested the boy.

The boy was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised pistol and granted bail to appear at Children’s Court on 29 September 2016.
