Teen Charged With Attempted Murder in Shalvey Stabbing

A teenager will face court today after a 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed during a brawl in Sydney's west.

About 10.40pm on Tuesday 6 January 2026, emergency services were called to an address on Sedgman Crescent, Shalvey, following reports a party of about 40 people had been underway before a brawl started in a driveway.

On arrival, officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command located 17-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group, and the Dog Unit assisted with management of crowds who had remained at the location.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested at a shopping centre in Blacktown about 1:30pm yesterday, Thursday 8 January 2026.

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with attempted murder.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Division Court today, (Friday 9 January 2026).
