Teen Charged With Firearm Possession, Bail Breach

A teenage boy has faced court, charged with alleged firearm possession and breach of bail in the state's Orana region.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were patrolling East Dubbo about 3.10am on Friday 7 August 2026, when they spoke to a 13-year-old boy.

The boy allegedly ran from police and was unable to be located.

Following inquiries, about 10.30pm Sunday 9 August 2026, police attended a home in Dubbo, where they arrested a 13-year-old boy.

A replica pistol was allegedly located in his possession; it was seized.

The teen was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with possess unregistered firearm-pistol, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and faced a children's court yesterday (Monday 10 August 2026).
