Teen charged with three counts of stealing in Ryde

Detectives from the Ryde Local Area Command have arrested a teenager in relation to a series of incidents that occurred earlier this year, NSW Police say.

About 9am today (Tuesday 19 December 2017), the 16-year-old boy was arrested in Hebersham and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with three counts of stealing from a person.

The incidents, which occurred in October 2017, involved the teenager and other males, entering commercial businesses in the Eastwood and Epping central business districts. They allegedly distracted staff before stealing personal items from the premises.

The teenager was granted strict conditional bail and will appear at a Children’s Court on Monday 15 January 2018.
