Minutes later police located a crash at the intersection of The Grove Way and Golden Grove Road involving the Nissan and a Hyundai. The driver of the Nissan had been seen by witnesses to run from the car into a nearby creek bed. The driver of the Hyundai was not seriously injured but taken to hospital for treatment.

Other patrols attended to the area locating and arresting a 15-year-old Parafield Gardens boy in nearby Greenway Drive. He is expected to be charged with serious offences including illegal use and leaving the scene of a crash.
