Teen dies after being pulled from Hawkesbury River - Sackville

A teenage boy has died after being pulled from the water at Sackville yesterday.

Just after 12.20pm (Monday 25 January 2021), emergency services were called to the Hawkesbury River near Tizzana Road, Sackville, after reports a 16-year-old boy was unresponsive after being pulled from the river.

Members of the public commenced CPR, before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was stabilised and airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, however, he died earlier today (Tuesday 26 January 2021).

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
