A driver was arrested after a police pursuit in the northern suburbs overnight.
About 2.30am on Tuesday 9 December, police received a report of a stolen car involved in a petrol drive-off from a servo on Phillip Highway, Elizabeth South.
A couple of minutes later, a patrol spotted the stolen Audi SUV heading north on Main North Road, Elizabeth and a pursuit commenced.
The vehicle travelled through Elizabeth, Davoren Park and surrounding suburbs. The stolen Audi hit a roundabout sign at the intersection of Peachey Road and Winterslow Road, Edinburgh North.
Police managed to spike its tyres at the intersection of Main North Road and Philip Highway, Elizabeth.
The Audi came to a stop on Main North Road, Craigmore after the front passenger tyre deflated and came off the rim.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Elizabeth Vale, was arrested without further incident.
He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.152.
He was charged with illegal use, drive disqualified, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, speed dangerous, driving without due care and drink driving.
He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court later today.
The Audi SUV had been reported stolen from Munno Para West on 6 December.
It has been towed away for forensic examination.
