Teen drowns at Mid North Coast beach

A teenager has drowned at a mid north coast beach this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to an unpatrolled beach near Diamond Head about 1pm today (Wednesday 30 September 2020), following reports a teenage boy got into trouble while swimming with family members.

Upon arrival, officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District pulled the 17-year-old from the water and began conducting CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics continued, however he died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
