Teen Hospitalised After Springvale Korean BBQ Fire

Police are investigating a suspicious fire in Springvale this morning.

Protective Services Officers at Springvale Railway Station were told two males were seen breaking into the restaurant on Springvale Road near Windsor Avenue about 12.15am.

Fire crews were called after black smoke was observed coming from the top floor of the premises.

There was nobody inside at the time.

It is believed the males fled in a vehicle.

A short time later, emergency services were called to reports of a teenage boy with burns at a fast food restaurant on Warrigal Rd in Heatherton.

The 15-year-old was arrested and transported to hospital under police guard.

A crime scene has been established and the investigation is ongoing.
