Teen robbed in Sefton

Police are investigating after a teenage boy was robbed at Sefton, in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 5.30pm (Saturday 4 November 2017), two boys aged 13 and 14 got off a train at the railway station.

Police have been told that as they passed a group of six youths, the group made comments toward them before some from the group began chasing them.

The pair became separated, with the younger boy stopping in a laneway behind Helen Street to ask an unknown man for protection.

The older boy was confronted by three people from the group on Helen Street. They demanded his property and made off with his jumper, phone, wallet, and a video game he had just purchased.

Neither child was injured in the incident.

The matter was reported to police from Bankstown Local Area Command who are investigating the incident.

Two members of the group have been described as being of Caucasian appearance, with the other four being described as being of African appearance.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
