Teenage boy charged for armed robbery in Lidcombe

About 12.05am today (Saturday 29 September 2018), police were called to a service station on Joseph street Lidcombe, after reports of an armed robbery, NSW Police say.

A 17-year-old boy approached the counter and allegedly threatened the attendants with a replica firearm, before fleeing the scene on foot with some cash.

No injuries were reported.

Police from Auburn PAC attended and established a perimeter around the service station.

Officers from Public Order Riot Squad were nearby and arrested the boy a number of streets away.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with robbery with firearm.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in a children’s court today (Saturday 29 September 2018).
