Teenage girl taken to hospital with lacerations after altercation at Willoughby

Police are continuing inquiries after a teenage girl was taken to hospital with multiple lacerations on Sydney's north shore last night.

About 10.50pm (Friday 26 April 2019), emergency services were called to Willoughby Road, near Gorman Street, Willoughby, after reports of an assault.

Officers attached the North Shore Police Area Command attended and located a 15-year-old girl with lacerations to her legs and back of her head.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Randwick Children's Hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

Police spoke with a 16-year-old boy at the scene who is believed to have been with the girl when the assault occurred.

It's believed the pair became involved in an altercation with another male and female in the street, before the 15-year-old girl was assaulted, and the boy was punched in the head and his phone was stolen.

As inquiries continue, no arrests have been made and police are searching for a male and a female they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
