Teenaged girls arrested after crash in Guildford

Two teenage girls have been arrested after a stolen vehicle crashed into the front fence of a home in Guildford overnight.

About 10.50pm (Monday 11 February 2019), a vehicle, allegedly driven by a 15-year-old girl and carrying a 15-year-old occupant, crashed into the front yard of a home on Harris Street, Guildford.

It's alleged the two girls got out of the car and ran but were stopped and detained by a nearby resident on Lucas Street.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called, and an investigation was commenced.

Initial inquiries revealed the vehicle was stolen in late January from an address in Smithfield.

The two girls suffered cuts and abrasions during the crash and were both taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead for treatment.

Police have established the identity of the pair and they have been released pending further inquiries.
