Detectives from Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit have today arrested a 17-year-old Point Cook man following an alleged assault on a police officer on Tuesday 26 December, Victoria Police say.
The police officer was in the process of arresting a teenage boy following an alleged shoplifting incident at the Rosamond Road centre when the 17-year-old approached and allegedly assaulted him.
The man then fled the scene.
The 17-year-old remains in custody and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
