Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager following a grassfire in Truganina on 5 March.
Emergency services were called to the fire in grassland on Westmeadows Lane and Rymill Way about 4.30pm.
The fire spread throughout the grassland, causing damage to rear fences and a nearby residence.
A 16-year-old Hoppers Crossing teen has been charged with:
• Intentionally causing a bushfire
The teen will appear at a children's court at a later date.
