Teenager charged following 'glassing', NSW

A teenager has been charged after allegedly assaulting two other teenagers at an unauthorised beach party near Lake Macquarie last night, NSW Police say.

Just after 9pm yesterday today, police attended a party at Second Creek, at Redhead Beach, following reports of an assault.

Upon arrival officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were approached by two 17-year-old males, one of whom had sustained a laceration to his face and neck.

Initial investigations suggest another teen approached the pair while holding a glass bottle.

He then allegedly struck one of the 17-year-olds on the back of the head, before slashing the second teenager across the face with the broken bottle.

Both injured teenagers were treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Belmont Hospital.

Police arrested a third male, also aged 17, and he was taken to Belmont Police Station.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and reckless wounding and was granted conditional bail to appear at Children’s Court on Monday 16 May 2016.
