Teenager charged over sexual touching of woman at Broken Hill

A teenage boy has been charged after a woman was sexually touched in the state's far west overnight.

About 5.40pm yesterday (Monday 30 September 2019), a young woman was walking home from a business on Cobalt Street at Broken Hill when she turned to find a 15-year-old boy standing in front of her.

It is alleged the teen sexually touched the woman who ran from her front yard and was assisted by a witness.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District were alerted to the incident and commenced inquiries.

Police canvassed the area and located the teen on Oxide Street a short time later.

It is alleged the teen kicked a police officer in the face during the arrest.

He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent (x2), resist officer in execution of duty, and assault officer in execution of duty.

He was bail refused to appear before a children's court today (Tuesday 1 October 2019).
