Teenager charged over stabbing at Mt Druitt

A teenager will face court today on multiple charges following the alleged stabbing of another teen at Mt Druitt last month.

Emergency services were called to a convenience store on North Parade about 5.45pm on Monday 11 November 2019, where they found a 16-year-old boy suffering stab wounds.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition. He has since undergone surgery and been released.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy in Dawson Mall at Mt Druitt yesterday (Tuesday 3 December 2019).

He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, reckless wounding, affray and carry cutting weapon.

Police will allege the teen was in possession of a knife at the time of arrest.

He was refused bail and will appear in a children's court later today (Wednesday 4 December 2019).
