Teenager rescued after falling down a cliff at Blue Mountains

A rescue operation is under way after a teenager fell in the Blue Mountains today.

About 12pm (Sunday 13 September 2020), officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command were called to Martin's Lookout near Springwood after a 16-year -old boy slipped and fell approximately 40 metres down an embankment.

Police arrived to find the teenager at the base of a cliff in need of medical attention.

Police Rescue officers with the assistance of Fire and Rescue NSW immediately commenced a rescue operation and winched the teen to safety about 3.15pm.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transferred to hospital.

The teenager's injuries aren't considered life threatening.
