Teens charged after assault of bus driver, NSW

Two teenagers will face children’s court next month after allegedly assaulting a bus driver in Macquarie Park.

About noon today (Friday 22 September 20170, police were called to a bus stop on the corner of Herring and Waterloo Roads following reports a bus driver had been assaulted.

On scene, officers attached to Ryde Local Area Command found a male bus driver with minor injuries. He refused medical treatment.

Two youths were arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station, NSW Police say.

The first 16-year-old boy was charged with common assault, custody of knife in public place, intentionally mark premises without consent in circumstances of aggravation, and possession of a prohibited drug.

A second 16-year-old boy was charged with intentionally mark premises without consent in circumstances of aggravation and custody of knife in public place.

Both teenagers were granted bail and are due to appear at a children’s court on Monday 9 October 2017.
