Teens Charged in Warren Break-In Spree: Op Soteria

Two teenage boys were charged after attempting to break into three separate homes in the state's west overnight.

Just after 3am today (Wednesday 8 April 2026), police were called to a home on Bundemar Street, following reports two people – with faces covered - attempted to steal a CCTV from the home.

The pair went to a second home on the same street and attempted to steal a vehicle.

Officers attached to Orama Mid-Western Police District attended and while conducting inquiries received a report the pair allegedly attempted to break into another home on Oxley Street.

A short time later, officers arrested two teenage boys – aged 16 and 13 – about 3.30am on Dubbo Street..

They were both taken to Warren Police Station where they were charged with face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, aggravated enter dwelling with intention – armed, and break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent (two counts).

The younger boy was also further charged with breach of bail.

They were both refused bail to appear at Children's Court today (Wednesday 8 April 2026).

Inquiries under Operation Soteria continue.
