Teens in custody after pursuit in Rockdale

Two teenage boys are in police custody after a stolen car was involved in a pursuit and crash in southern Sydney this evening, NSW Police say.

Police from St George Local Area Command began following a Honda Civic along the Princes Highway at Kogarah about 7.15pm (Thursday 7 December 2017), due to the manner in which it was being driven.

Officers directed the driver to stop; however, will allege the car continued and a pursuit was initiated.

This continued to the intersection of Bay Street, Rockdale, when the stolen car allegedly hit another vehicle and stopped.

Two youths travelling in the Civic were arrested and have been taken to Kogarah Police Station. Police will allege the driver was unlicensed.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured but one officer sustained minor injuries in the arrest.
