Ballina Shire Council wishes to advise that roadworks will commence at the intersection of Rous Road and Wardell Road, Lynwood, from Tuesday 13 June 2023 and continue for approximately two weeks (weather permitting).
For these works to be carried out, access to Rous Road via Wardell Road will be closed. Rous Road will be closed to all through-traffic between Red Lane and Wardell Road. Wardell Road will remain open to traffic.
This essential road closure will enable Council to upgrade the intersection of Rous and Wardell roads.
The following detours will be in place:
- Traffic travelling on Rous Road to head northbound on Wardell Road will need to detour via Red Lane or Rous Cemetery Road, Ellis Road to Wardell Road
- Traffic travelling on Rous Road to head southbound on Wardell Road will need to detour via Dalwood Road
- Traffic travelling on Wardell Road to enter Rous Road will be detoured via Dalwood or Ellis Road.
Local bus services will not be able to travel their usual route via Wardell Road and Rous Road to Lismore. Bus services will be detoured to travel from Wardell Road straight onto Dalwood Road.
Traffic control and variable message boards will be in place to notify motorists of traffic changes.
