Tenders invited for Soldiers' Memorial Hall refurbishment project

Tenders have been invited for the construction of the Soldiers' Memorial Hall refurbishment project.

Toowoomba Regional Council Environment and Community Services Committee chair Cr James O'Shea said the project was established to restore and refurbish the building at 149 Herries Street, Toowoomba.

"The refurbishment will ensure the hall continues to serve as a monument to our fallen service personnel and a place of support for current and ex-service personnel from our Region," Cr O'Shea said.

"The project will be completed as a multi-staged upgrade. The first stage will focus on urgent building repairs, including rear roof restoration works, and upgrading the front portion of the building.

"A lift, ramps and accessible toilets will be installed during this stage to make the hall accessible to people with a disability or limited mobility.
