Textile Recycling Drop-off Event At Cooma Landfill

Canvas bags filled with cotton clothing, ready to be donated for reuse or recycling. Indoors, plain white background.

Council is calling on residents across the Snowy Monaro to dig out their old and damaged clothes, blankets, and towels to donate for a good cause at Cooma Landfill from Thursday 13 November 2025 to Sunday 16 November 2025.

In partnership with RRR Australia, this free drop-off event will help keep reusable and recyclable textiles out of landfill. Reusable items will be donated directly to communities in need, with damaged or poor condition textiles recycled into new blankets and towels, or repurposed into industrial rags.

By getting stuck into a bit of spring cleaning this November, you'll be supporting local sustainability and helping those in need. It's a win-win-win.

How to get involved

Visit Cooma Landfill between Thursday 13 November and Sunday 16 November 2025 and drop off your old textiles in the specially-marked bins, located at Cooma ScrapMart. Ask gate staff for directions if you need a hand finding the right spot.

Drop-offs are open from 9.30am to 1.30pm on Thursday and Friday, 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
