Dr. Donna Strickland to give a lecture on her work

Ottawa, ON, January 17, 2019 – Mr. Iain Stewart, President of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), will welcome Dr. Donna Strickland, the 2018 Nobel laureate in Physics, back to the NRC. Dr. Strickland will deliver a lecture on her work in laser physics and chirped-pulse amplification research that paved the way toward the Nobel Prize.

Dr. Strickland began her career at the NRC as a summer student in metrology, and returned in 1988 as a Postdoctoral Fellow working with NRC researcher and University of Ottawa Canada Research Chair in Attosecond Photonics, Dr. Paul Corkum. She is presently a professor at the University of Waterloo.
