Theft from motor vehicles - Hawthorn

Police have released images of three men who may be able to assist with enquiries after a number of cars were broken into in Hawthorn early last month, Victoria Police say.

It’s believed a Holden Captiva with stolen plates, ZYL510, drove into an underground carpark on Riversdale Road about 4am on Saturday 7 January.

Three unknown offenders exited the vehicle and used a jemmy bar or similar item to break into several cars in the underground car park.

The offenders stole a number of items, including a box trailer containing about $10,000 worth of tools.

One of the men is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance and about 190cm tall with a pale complexion. He was wearing black pants, a white-long sleeved t-shirt and a balaclava over his face.

Another man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and about 180cm tall. He was wearing a bright orange jumper, black shorts and black runners.

The other unknown male was also wearing a fluorescent orange hooded jumper, khaki-coloured pants and runners.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
