Theft investigation, Ipswich district

Police are appealing for information regarding three break-ins at mobile phone towers in the Ipswich district last month.

In three separate incidents, 61 deep cycle batteries were stolen from Goodna and Bellbird Park.

Around 5pm on January 7, one deep cycle battery was removed from a telecommunication facility on Jones Road, Bellbird Park.

Around 1am on January 16, 20 batteries were stolen from a mobile phone tower on Church Street at Goodna.

Between 9.30-10pm on January 26, 40 batteries were stolen a telecommunication facility on Eric Street, Goodna.

Each battery weighs about 25kg.

Anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the break-ins, and may have information, is urged to contact police.
