Detectives have charged a third man as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs across Western Sydney.
In April 2019, detectives from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Ilett to investigate a criminal group involved in the supply of prohibited drugs, mainly methylamphetamine, in Sydney's west.
In March this year, officers arrested two men – aged 23 and 29. They were both charged and remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, Strike Force Ilett investigators, with assistance from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor, executed a search warrant at a unit at Kingsgrove about 8.30am today (Tuesday 28 July 2020).
During the search, officers seized $2130 cash and mobile phones.
A 49-year-old man was arrested and taken to Hurstville Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity) and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
Police will allege in court that the man was involved in the supply of 196g of methylamphetamine across Sydney between June and October last year.
The man was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today.
Investigations under Strike Force Ilett are continuing.
