Third man to face court over unlawful detention incident, South Australia

Major Crime Detectives have arrested a third person as they continue to investigate the suspected murder of Christie Downs man, Robert Atkins.

On Friday 27 August, Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch arrested a 43-year-old Northfield man for the unlawful detention and aggravated assault of a 33-year-old man that occurred at Seaford on 15 July 2021.

This man is alleged to be a co-offender of two men who were arrested by Major Crime Detectives on 21 August at Seaford and 26 August at Aldinga.

The man has been refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

The investigation into the murder of Robert Atkins is ongoing and this crime and the subsequent arrests by Major Crime Detectives have occurred as a consequence of that investigation.
